MY SON NEVER HAS EATEN MEAT LOAF HES 6, SO I WANT TO TRY TO MAKE IT FOR HIM ANY GOOD RECIPES OUT THERE.Anyone has a good meat loaf recipes?
My favorite meatloaf recipe (approximate, because it's from memory):
1/3 lb ground turkey
1/3 lb ground pork
1/3 lb ground beef (I like to use ground sirloin)
3-4 slices of bread, torn into small pieces
1/4 t dry mustard
2 t salt
2 T dried parsley or 2 t fresh, minced
some chopped celery and onion, sauteed in olive oil
1 t worchestershire sauce
1 egg
some milk (to add moisture if it needs it)
Mix it all in a bowl, shape it into a loaf, and bake it, preferably on a broiler pan or a rack (so the drippings drain away) at 350 for about 45 minutes - 1 hour. You can also add bacon strips to the top before putting it in the oven.
I usually buy 1-lb packages of the meat and mix them, divide them, and freeze 2 for later. Or you can make a giant meatloaf, but cook it longer (1 1/2 hours to 2 hours for all 3 lbs of meat).
The bread and the mixture of meats make it taste lighter than if you only used beef.Anyone has a good meat loaf recipes?
Use 100% beef hamburger. Report Abuse
my fave is using ground sirloin, infusing it wih onion, bell peppers, catsup, 1 egg to bind ingredients, after it is shaped into loaf, top with bacon strips and BBQ sauce...serve with cornbread and melting butter and corn on the cob..
go to allrecipes.com.. they have thousands of recipes. My kids like it when i top my meatloaf with catsup and brown sugar. It gives it a good taste.
